The Story Behind Who Said By BellaRo

Who Said was inspired by a simple moment with my children.

At the time, my children were 2 and 10 years old, and after playing together, my youngest became upset because his sister had beaten him. Watching how deeply he felt from that disappointment, it made me think about how important encouragement is for children, especially during moments when they begin doubting themselves or comparing who they are to others. That moment became the heart of Who Said.

Writing has always been an outlet for me, and while creating this book, I also found myself reconnecting with creativity in a new way. During the development process, I explored sketching and digital art to help visualize the story and communicate the vision I had for the characters and overall feel of the book.

This story is about resilience, imagination, and reminding children that one setback does not define them. Through Oshey’s journey, I want children to see that they are capable of becoming anything they dream of with hard work, belief, and encouragement.

After holding onto the idea since 2021, it’s incredibly special to finally share it with you all.
